Privacy policy
This policy explains what information the Cricenza app and website (“Cricenza”, “we”, “us”) collect, why, how long we keep it and the choices you have. Cricenza is published by [Company name], [Postal address]. Questions: [contact@example.com].
1. Information we collect
When you use the app (no account)
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| A random install ID created by the app, the platform (Android / iOS / web) and the app version | To recognise the same installation, keep your settings and stop abuse such as poll stuffing |
| Your app language and the country of your network (from your IP address or our network provider's country header) | To show the app in your language and to switch features on or off where the law requires (for example odds) |
| Teams, matches and series you follow, and your notification settings | To send the alerts you asked for |
| A push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) | To deliver notifications to your device |
| Poll votes and quiz answers, linked to the install ID | To count votes once and show your quiz score and streak |
| Which match pages are opened, counted per install at most once per hour, and daily totals | Usage statistics (for example “most viewed matches”); stored as counts, not as a browsing history |
| IP address, device and request details in server logs, and technical error reports | Security, preventing abuse, rate limiting and fixing errors |
Your IP address is used to find the country and to apply rate limits; it is not stored in your app profile.
If you log in (optional)
Login uses your mobile number and a one-time SMS code, handled by Google Firebase Authentication. We store your phone number, the Firebase user ID, an optional display name, your language and the time of your last login, and link your installs to the account so that follows, notification settings and premium status move with you to a new phone. On our server we keep only a hashed copy of your login session token.
Premium (ad-free) purchases
Payments are processed by Google Play (or the Apple App Store). We never see your card or bank details. We receive the purchase token, product, status and expiry date, and check them with Google so that premium works only for genuine purchases.
2. Advertising
Free versions of the app may show ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address and information about ad interactions to show and measure ads, including personalised ads. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your phone's settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads / Privacy → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking). In regions where the law requires consent for ads (for example the EEA, the UK or Switzerland), the app shows Google's consent form before any ad is requested; ads load only after you have made your choice. You can change it at any time in the app under More → About → Ad privacy choices. Premium users and users in countries where ads are switched off see no ads. See how Google uses information from apps.
The website may show ads from Google AdSense. Google may set cookies and use your IP address and browser information to show and measure ads. Visitors from regions where consent is required (for example the EEA, the UK or Switzerland) see Google's consent message first, and Google serves no personalised ads there until you have chosen. The website itself sets only one cookie of its own: your light / dark display preference. It also measures page speed for a small sample of visits (page type and loading times only — no cookie, no identifier).
3. Service providers we share data with
- Google Firebase — push notifications (Cloud Messaging) and optional phone login (Authentication).
- Google AdMob / Google AdSense — ads in the app / on the website, as described above.
- Google Play Billing / Apple App Store — premium purchases.
- Hosting and network providers — our servers and content delivery network, which process requests on our behalf.
- Cricket data provider — supplies scores, commentary and other match data to our server. We do not send your personal information to it.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our users or services, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (with this policy continuing to apply). Some providers process data on servers outside India; they are bound to protect it.
4. Odds and sessions
Where available, Cricenza shows betting odds and session lines published by third parties for information and entertainment only. We do not take bets, do not process payments for betting and do not collect any betting information about you. These features are switched off in some countries and regions.
5. How long we keep information
- Install data, follows and settings: while the app is in use, until you ask us to delete them.
- Account data: until you delete your account. Login sessions expire after 60 days.
- Premium purchase records: while the subscription is active and for as long as needed for refunds, tax and accounting.
- Server logs and error reports: a limited period (usually weeks), then deleted.
- Backups: overwritten on a rolling basis, normally within about one month.
6. Your choices and rights
- Notifications: turn them off in the app (Settings → Notifications) or in your phone's settings.
- Delete your account: in the app, Settings → Account → Delete account. Details and other ways: https://api.187-127-217-151.sslip.io/account-deletion.
- Access, correction or deletion of other data: e-mail [contact@example.com]. Include the device ID shown in Settings → About so we can find your install.
- You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live. In India, this includes your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
7. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Provider credentials are encrypted in our database, session tokens are stored only as hashes, and access to the admin panel is limited and logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Children
Cricenza is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed; important changes will also be announced in the app.
